Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yasin Özcan – Who Is He?

I was born in 1983 in Siirt. After completing my primary education in Kayseri and my secondary and high school education in Şanlıurfa, I graduated from Kayseri Erciyes University Faculty of Medicine in 2008. I completed my ophthalmology residency between 2009 and 2013 at Ankara Ulucanlar Eye Training and Research Hospital. After fulfilling my compulsory service at Şanlıurfa Mehmet Akif İnan Training and Research Hospital between 2014 and 2018, I was appointed to Istanbul İstinye State Hospital in 2018.

Between 2019 and 2021, I served as a faculty member at Yeditepe University Faculty of Medicine and received the title of Associate Professor in 2021. Between 2022 and 2023, I worked at Istanbul Başkent University Hospital and SBÜ Ümraniye Training and Research Hospital Eye Clinic. After working at a private hospital in Istanbul Ataşehir between 2023 and 2025, I have been providing services at my own clinic, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yasin Özcan Eye Clinic, since 2025. I am married and a father of two children.

My areas of interest include Comprehensive Eye Examination, Cataract and Refractive Surgery (Laser Vision Correction), Glaucoma, Neuro-ophthalmology, Medical Retina, Oculoplastic Surgery, and Strabismus.

I have more than 100 scientific publications in the literature, including the first described cases particularly in the field of retinopathy of prematurity observed in newborns, with more than 200 citations to these articles.
